Booking Info
Ready to Book?
Booking an aerial performance can feel overwhelming! Rig points? Apparatuses?? Ambient music versus choreography?!
While the information below will give you a brief overview, you don't need to know exactly what you want before you book. We're happy to walk you through the process and find the right booking for you.
Please be aware: we might require a site visit to make sure that it's safe for us to perform at your venue. While we're all daredevils, we take safety very seriously. Unstable ground, low ceilings, crowded spaces, and other factors may make it unsafe for us to perform at certain locations.
Factors that Effect Booking
Available Space
The majority of our equipment relies on a flat, level surface. While we can occassionally hang a point from a beam or truss, those beams must be weighted to hold several thousand pounds. All of the standing equipment works in an uncovered, outdoor space.
-
Lollipop Lyra-takes up the least amount of floor space, and can be used in rooms with 8' high ceilings.
-
Small rig-the small rig has an approximate footprint of 8'2"x7'8". Max height of 11', can be used at a lower height. Limited apparatus availability.
-
Large rig-the large rig has a footprint of 18'6" square. Max height 21'. All apparatuses work on this rig.
Ambient versus Choreography
-
Ambient performances are done to whatever music is playing in the background. The performer will choose moves in sequence based on what music is playing. Typically, apparatuses are not changed between each performer. Ambient is good for events where the performer is not the focus.
-
Choreographed performances are designed ahead of time by the performer to a set piece of music. Apparatuses are often changed for each performer. These are designed to be a "show" where the audience will be specifically focused on the performer.
-
Choreographed performances cost more. There is a much greater investment of time for each performance, as choreography typically takes 2-3 months to put together and learn.
-
Miscellaneous Factors
-
Weather: outdoor performances will be weather dependent.
-
Set up and tear down: the larger the equipment, the more people and time it will take. The large rig requires a minimum of 4 people for set up and tear down
-
Travel time: we are located in the Charlottesville area in Central Virginia
